Article

Not all languages have both definite and indefinite articles, and some languages have different types of definite and indefinite articles to distinguish finer shades of meaning: for example, French and Italian have a partitive article used for indefinite mass nouns, whereas Colognian has two distinct sets of definite articles indicating focus and uniqueness, and Macedonian uses definite articles in a demonstrative sense, with a tripartite distinction (proximal, medial, distal) based on distance from the speaker or interlocutor. The words this and that (and their plurals, these and those) can be understood in English as, ultimately, forms of the definite article the (whose declension in Old English included thaes, an ancestral form of this/that and these/those).
In many languages, the form of the article may vary according to the gendernumber, or case of its noun. In some languages the article may be the only indication of the case. Many languages do not use articles at all, and may use other ways of indicating old versus new information, such as topic–comment constructions.

Great Grand Masti song Resham ka rumaal: Urvashi Routela’s oomph slays Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi!

It’s a fad to reprise an old classic because as cliche suggests, old is forever gold. So every filmmaker is spoilt for choice now. The trick is to figure out one oldie that will jazz up the album the way even a new song can’t. Now there is a point. When you have a hit track to poach, why would you put in your efforts for something new. And we admit the Resham ka roomal reprised track inGreat Grand Masti is definitely groovy.
As the franchise is known, inane double meaning jokes are at the core of it all. The songs are just an extension of the same. Here, Urvashi is luring three men with her beauty and gorgeousness. Yes, she does look hot in the song and we give it to the boys for falling so badly for her. When someone so sexy is moving like that in front of you, men can hardly contain their excitement. The song will give you a rush. We won’t be surprised if it becomes a regular at discos and pubs. Toshi Sabri and Soniya Sharma have done a great job of singing the song which is one of our favourites from yesteryear.

Kareena Kapoor Khan Roped In For Golmaal 4

Putting all speculations to end, our source has finally confirmed that actressKareena Kapoor Khan has signed the dotted lines for the Rohit Shetty’s 4th part of the Golmaal franchise.
Bebo was initially not very sure about taking up this project. She was approached for Te3ndirector Ribhu Dasgupta’s upcoming flick as well. However, she put an end to the confusion by accepting Golmaal 4.
Confirming the news, the source said: “Kareena has made the right choice. She has already worked with Rohit and Ajay Devgn in Golmaal 3 (2010) and Singham 2 (2014). Also, comedy is right up her alley. The icing on the cake is, people have liked her chemistry with Ajay right from the days of Omkara (2006). So, it will be fabulous to see the trio (Rohit, Ajay, Kareena) come together again.”

This Actress To Replace Katrina Kaif In Salman Khan’s Next

If rumours are to be believed, actress Jacqueline Fernandez has been approached for a role in director Tarun Mansukhani’s next film. The film was earlier supposed to be played by Katrina Kaif opposite actor Salman Khan.
A well-known producer, close to both the actresses, has given a statement to a media house that, "Both girls are hard-working, professional, completely focused and ruthlessly ambitious. They also have a similar personality profile. So, the roles that would have ideally gone to Katrina, especially with Salman, went to Jacqueline."
Jacqueline, who has earlier worked with Salman in his super hit blockbuster Kick, has bagged a lot of offers this year. The actress was last seen in Housefull 2 and will be seen in upcomingDishoom.

Salman Khan just can't seem to say sorry for his rape remark

Maybe Salman Khan should realise that the solution to the current predicament he is facing involves doing something very simple: saying sorry.
On Wednesday, Khan responded to the National Commission for Women (NCW) via his legal representatives over the controversy created after he had earlier said that the physically exhausting shoot schedule for his upcoming wrestling drama Sultan left him "feeling like a raped woman".
News reports have said that the NCW is now assessing Khan's reply — which, apparently, does not contain an apology for the rape remark.
In fact, India Today TV reported that in his response, Khan has said that the "NCW should not have taken suo motu cognizance (of this issue)."
Yet again, Khan blew all our minds with his amazing Bhai logic.
Because of course, "the apex national level organisation of India with the mandate of protecting and promoting the interests of women" should take absolutely no interest when an actor with a huge fan following trivialises rape by comparing the trauma faced by a rape victim to the exhaustion felt after an intense shoot.
Reports have also said that the Maharashtra State Commission for Women (MSCW) has also now summoned Khan for a hearing on the matter on 7 July.
Because of his stubborn refusal to apologise, Salman Khan is actually creating more troubles for himself. But despite all the media outrage, summons by a government body, an apology from his father and even Bollywood's divided views on his rape remark, Salman Khan simply refuses to apologise.
This points out something very important: Either Khan actually believes that he did absolutely nothing wrong or he has such a big ego that an apology is simply not an option. Because after all, how can Bhai, the superstar, apologise?

Both these possibilities shows how arrogant Salman Khan is and what he thinks about the respect that should be (or should not be, as it seems with this case) given to women.
Most of us are not even expecting Khan to feel sorry about his remark. We have seen people issue meaningless apologies all the time. Politicians apologise to people and take 'moral responsibility' after defeat in an election all the time. And we all know how meaningful most of those apologies really are.But they issue it nonetheless, because a public apology is an attempt to try and convince the people one feels bad for hurting them, irrespective of its authenticity.
But Salman Khan has not issued even a meaningless apology. Why? Maybe because of his 'Bhai' image, because of the fact Khan can do pretty much anything and he will still have a huge fan following in this country.
According to India Today TV, Khan in his response to the NCW also said that this entire controversy has affected his image and he did not intentionally make insensitive remarks.
What he does not realise is that apologising will actually help improve his image by putting an end to the outrage over his remark without affecting his fan following, who will love him no matter what he does.
And yes, we all know that Khan had said, "I should not have (said that)..." after making the rape remark. But saying one should have done something is very different from apologising, which is acceptance of guilt and has greater impact.
As far as intention goes, we know that Khan did not literally mean he felt like a sexually assaulted person after the shoot. He meant that he was exhausted. And most of us use the F-word sometimes to describe exhaustion, frustration, anger or some negative emotion.
But the F-word does not focus on non-consensual sex, which is rape. Saying 'felt like a raped woman' is meant toespecially focus on the fact that the analogy was based on non-consensual sex, something which is a heinous crime and an act of violence. The fact that rape culture is common in our country, and other people also use rape as an analogy, should not be a defence for Khan. In fact, it makes him all the more liable. If our celebrities and VIPs start making remarks based on rape culture and then not apologise for the same, it will only worsen the problem in our society.
Salman Khan has to apologise because rape culture should no longer be tolerated in the country.
Salman Khan has to apologise for his remark, which used rape as an analogy to describe exhaustion. AFP

Tusshar Kapoor on becoming a father

Tusshar Kapoor reveals that he has become a father to a son through in vitro fertilization procedure and says that his son Laksshya looks exactly like him.
"I wanted to be a father. I met Dr. Firuza Parikh and she suggested this procedure. I was in a hurry to become a father.. I am turning 40 in a few months, so I felt I was in the right stage to become a single parent and I went ahead with what was told to me.
"I am happy that I have taken the right decision. Our family is complete now, we are five now, grandparents, me, my sister and little Laksshya," Tusshar said while addressing the media at his residence.
Tusshar didn't reveal the date of birth of his son but said that he came home a week back and was sleeping during the course of the media interaction.
"I wanted to be a single parent, my dream has come true. My son looks exactly like me, so it makes me very happy. I have no words to express how excited or joyous I feel right now.
"It's just your paternal instinct when you feel mentally that you are ready to become a father... Lot of people adopt, but I didn't want to adopt, I wanted to have my own child."
Previously, both superstars Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan conceived their third child through the IVF and surrogacy procedure.
A conversation with Rajneeti director Prakash Jha, who has an adopted daughter, was one of the reasons behind Tusshar's decision.
"I had visited Tirupati temple last year and while I was leaving after the darshan, I met Prakash Jha who was also in my flight. And in our conversation he said that 'this (IVF) is also a way if you want to have a child, if you want to be a single parent'. He introduced me to a family who had followed the IVF and surrogacy procedure. So I felt very inspired and felt I was ready," Tusshar said.

Is Deepika Padukone in Paris with Ranveer Singh?

For those who might have wondered about the rift rumours between Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, here's news that will put that to rest. The two were said to be in Paris. A source told a publication that post an awards show in Spain, Ranveer went to Paris for the shoot of 'Befikre'. And Deepika, who was at the show, also flew to Paris to join him. They haven't said anything about this, but it's obvious as most of the other Bollywood folks have returned Spain, while she is yet to return. After Ranveer received his award in Spain, he had tweeted a pic of him and Deepika together with their trophies, and captioned the same,"Koi shaq"?

    • Arjun Kapoor – 54.8 crore
    • Emraan Hashmi – 39.7 crore
    • Shahid Kapoor – 33.4 crore
Success Ratio i.e Above Average or better  (probably the most important, because it’s the percentage of films that recovered investment)
    • Shah Rukh Khan – 100%
    • Varun Dhawan – 100%
    • Salman Khan – 90%
    • Aamir Khan – 75%
    • Hrithik Roshan – 67%
    • Ranbir Kapoor – 50%
    • Arjun Kapoor – 50%
    • Sidharth Malhotra – 50%
    • Ranveer Singh – 50%
    • Akshay Kumar – 48%
    • Ajay Devgn – 44%
    • Emraan Hashmi – 43%
    • Shahid Kapoor – 20%
    • Hit Ratio i.e Hit or better
      • Shah Rukh Khan – 86%
      • Varun Dhawan – 83%
      • Salman Khan – 80%
      • Hrithik Roshan – 67%
      • Aamir Khan – 50%
      • Ranbir Kapoor – 50%
      • Arjun Kapoor – 50%
      • Sidharth Malhotra – 50%
      • Ranveer Singh – 50%
      • Ajay Devgn – 39%
      • Emraan Hashmi – 36%
      • Akshay Kumar – 33%
      • Shahid Kapoor – 20%
      • Blockbuster Ratio (this was worth pointing out, simply because the difference between actors is huge!)
        • Salman Khan – 70%
        • Aamir Khan – 50%
        • Ranbir Kapoor – 25%
        • Hrithik Roshan – 17%
        • Shah Rukh Khan – 14%
        • Emraan Hashmi – 14%
        • Ajay Devgn – 11%
        • Akshay Kumar – 5%
        • In conclusion, it’s quite clear that the decade so far has belonged to Salman Khan. Veer had to be included in the list because it released after 2010 and that hurt his success ratio. Apart from that, Jai Ho missed out on a ‘hit’ verdict. Those two films aside, he hasn’t put a foot wrong. Salman has a 70% blockbuster ratio i.e 7 out of his 10 films were blockbusters or better. This record, in itself, is better than every other stat that we’ve mentioned and we had to include it simply because no other actor has probably achieved it before. It’s hard to describe how huge it is, because his blockbuster count is almost the same as all other actors combined! His 10 films have also collected about 200 crore more than Akshay Kumar’s 21 films!
        • Shah Rukh Khan is the biggest surprise here. Between 2010 and 2015, he hasn’t had a film that has been completely rejected. No film has failed to cross the 200 crore worldwide mark either (of course, Fan hasn’t, but that film was this year). He and Varun Dhawan are the only actors with a 100% success ratio. Shah Rukh’s hit ratio is the highest too, not too bad for a man who’s supposedly going through a career low?! It’ll be interesting to see how the next 5 years pan out for him.
Aamir Khan missed out with Dhobi Ghat and Talaash, but hit the ball out of the park with Dhoom 3 and PK. He does very few films, but those few have worked big. Ajay Devgn’s box office performance was much improved as compared to the previous decade, quite a few of his films have done well.
Hrithik has been consistent, good success ratio, great average per film.. Kites and Guzaarish were his big failures. He needs to up the ante a bit and do more films.
        • Akshay Kumar tops the ‘number of films’ list once again, he’s easily been the most prolific. His average, which was in the mid-70s until the end of 2015, has also improved with his two releases in 2016. His choice of films is making a difference at the ticket window.
The younger stars like Varun, Arjun, Sidharth, Ranbir and Ranveer have had great starts to their career. Their success ratio is very high compared to the first few years of actors who made their debuts in the 90s. It shows that they take each of their films very seriously. Special mention for Varun, he’s been terrific. The very fact that a film like ‘Dilwale’ has been his biggest box office disappointment, says a lot about his career so far. ‘Dishoom’ will be a test.
Emraan hasn’t had a bad decade, he was doing well in the beginning, but has faltered in the last 3-4 years. Shahid has been very poor, way too many failures against his name.
